Lexus RC 300h F Sport Black Edition announced ahead of Geneva reveal

Raft of exterior and interior enhancements give hybrid coupe a menacing new look

Lexus will arrive at the 2018 Geneva motor show with the Lexus RC 300h F Sport Black Edition. As the name suggests, Lexus has imparted a host of visual changes on the coupe to give it a none-more-black colour scheme. Unfortunately there are no mechanical changes to speak of. Based on the Lexus RC 300h F Sport, the model will go on sale in May 2018 priced from £45,165.

For that hefty sum you’ll get a dash of exclusivity, courtesy of the Graphite Black paintwork,19-inch alloys with a two-tone silver-black finish, black window trim-surrounds and a darker chrome grille.

Step inside the cabin and you’ll find plenty of black leather trimming the tactile surfaces, including the seats and steering wheel, contrasted with orange stitching to break up the sea of black. Furthermore, Lexus has stained the wood inlays with black sumi ink.

As mentioned above, the hybrid powertrain goes unchanged, pairing a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with an electric motor. Combined power stands at 220bhp, which helps the Black Edition sprint from 0 to 62mph in 8.6sec.

To help justify the price tag – some £5520 more than a basic RC 300h F Sport – Lexus has also been generous with kit. A 17-speaker stereo system, LED headlights, a sunroof and heated and ventilated seats are all standard.
