Range Rover Sport SVR Ultimate edition revealed – the end is nigh for SVO’s performance flagship

The current Range Rover Sport SVR is going out with a bang before its all-new replacement arrives next year

Land Rover has revealed a new Ultimate Edition of its Range Rover Sport SVR, as the model prepares to wrap production up before an all-new generation of Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models arrive next year. For now, this new SVR Ultimate edition features some bespoke colour and trim elements executed by JLR’s SV department, giving the aging SUV a spruce up.

This starts with three new colour options, two of which are bespoke to the Ultimate Edition. These bespoke options are Maya Blue and Marl Grey, both of which feature a unique white glass fleck within the colour coat giving the bodywork a unique lustre. The third colour option is Ligurian Black in a matt finish, and all three colours are paired specifically to a gloss black roof.

In contrast to the usual black badging, the new Ultimate Edition includes unique Range Rover badges in contrasting white, with matching elements on the trim garnish along the car’s front wings. This is set off with a black finish to the standard-fit 22-inch wheels, mirror caps, grille inserts and brake calipers.

Inside, the standard colour palette is a combination of contrasting black and Cirrus leather and Alcantara, as is normally available on the SVR, although there is a bespoke anodised black finish to the gearshift paddles and tread plates for a subtle change over lesser models.

The chassis and powertrain are unchanged compared to the standard SVR, retaining the 567bhp supercharged V8 engine, eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and active all-wheel drive system. The new Ultimate edition is available to order for £123,900, just over £20,000 more than a standard SVR.
