Lamborghini sales up by 30 per cent

Lamborghini has announced strong international sales growth, selling 2083 cars in one year

Lamborghini sales up by 30 per cent

Due to the success of the Aventador, and increased sales performance in the USA, Europe and Asia, Lamborghini has posted a 30 per cent increase in sales compared to 2011. This news comes at the same time that parent company Audi also announced all-time vehicle sales of 1,455,123 vehicles in 2012.

The major driving force behind Lamborghini’s figure is the fact that 2012 was the first full year that the Aventador has been on sale, with 922 sold. Sales of the Gallardo remain good, and is still Lambo’s best selling car ever with 1161 sales this year and a total of more than 13,000 cars since its launch.

Despite the 30 per cent upturn, Lamborghini sales have still not recovered to pre-2008 levels in a difficult marketplace. The company’s turnover increased from €322m in 2011 to €469m in 2012. Lamborghini says that although the high volume supercars are important, it will also continue to offer limited production road cars like the recently unveiled Veneno and last year’s Aventador J.
