Lamborghini LP650-4 Roadster

Italian supercar firm shows off limited edition Murcielago LP650-4 Roadster

Thought the Lamborghini LP670-4 SV was the final (and maddest) piece in the Murcielago jigsaw? Enter this, the LP650-4 Roadster.

It’s the last drop-top version of the Murcielago, and it gets an extra dose of power and exclusivity to send it off. The V12 engine grows a tad to 6.5 litres with a subsequent 10bhp rise to 641bhp. Torque stays the same at 487lb ft. The 0-62mph sprint is dealt with in 3.4sec while the top speed is 205mph, on par with the LP640 Roadster but still more than enough to make this one of the quickest cabrios ever made.

Just 50 will be made, making it almost as exclusive as the Lamborghini Reventon, which had a production run of 20 units. The cars will be two-tone, combining a Grigio Telesto (or grey…) exterior with Arancio (orange, obviously) front spoiler, sills, and brake calipers as well as LP650-4 decals. The Roadster is the only Murcielago to enjoy the small power jump, and owners can proudly display the fact via neon logos. Equally showy is a transparent engine cover to allow excited children to peer in at the monster V12…

The outside colour scheme is echoed inside, with an asymmetric dash design and lashings of alcantara. Note the especially funky orange paddle shifters for the E-gear transmission, too.

If you need an LP650-4 to complete your set, then set aside upwards of £250,000, with prices set to weigh in at around ten per cent more than the current, £232,990 Lamborghini LP640 Roadster. Bargain.
