Kia VG: Kia VG

These are the first photos of the 2010 Kia VG saloon with almost all the camouflage removed!

Lately we've been referring to this saloon by its internal code, VG. We now know this saloon is actually the replacement for the current Kia Amanti, however, we've been told Kia will likely drop the Amanti nameplate in favour of something new. Riding on Hyundai/Kia's new 'NF' chassis, this Amanti replacement will be both wider and longer than the current Amanti. We've also been told that it will be a much more performance-oriented saloon this time around. Power will be proivded by Hyundai's lambda 3.8-litre V6 mated to a 6 speed transmission. Expect horsepower ratings in the neighbourhood of 280. Production of this all-new Kia will start in Korea sometime in the fourth quarter of 2009.
