Arden Jaguar XKR

Jaguar tuner Arden takes the new XKR Convertible past 530bhp and 200mph

We’re used to seeing the efforts of German tuners on various supercars and sports saloons.

This is a bit different, though – Arden has got its hands on a Jaguar XKR Convertible, and the results are pretty special.

Power from the supercharged 5-litre V8 is up from 503 to 533bhp while the torque figure sees a bigger leap, from 461 to 498lb ft. On top of all this, the 155mph speed limiter is lifted, making the 200mph mark a theoretical target.

If all that speed and power in a drop-top Jag concerns you, then fear not – there’s tweaked sports suspension with new shocks to handle the extra poke and performance.

It should be fairly easy to spot an Arden XKR, too, with the front grille and air intakes now clad in chrome-plated stainless steel, a new (and indiscreet) rear diffuser and some less than subtle 21in Sportline wheels.

If you like what you see, www.arden.de is the place to find out more and pop in an order. In the words of the company – ‘our heart beats for one of the world's noblest cars and for the delight in giving the Jaguar or Range Rover an even more exclusive touch’. Quite.
