Jaguar XK special editions launched

Jaguar has announced new Signature and Dynamic R models for the XK Coupe and convertible. Details here

Jaguar has attempted to inject some life into the XK, with a pair of new special edition cars. The Signature shifts the XK’s focus more towards value for money with a huge amount of optional kit, while the Dynamic R emphasises the car’s performance intentions.

Available as either a coupe or convertible the Dynamic R model, which is based on the XKR, features the same 503bhp 5-litre V8 engine but gets a number of other upgrades. To get the most from the XK, Jaguar has dropped the suspension by 10mm, using the same set-up as the XKR-S. This, along with the Speed Pack, increases top speed to 174mph, with 0-60mph coming up in 4.6secs.

The Speed pack also adds a different front splitter, rear spoiler, diffuser and side skirts, and the Dynamic R is also fitted with the active performance exhaust. Like all V8 Jaguars, the XK is only available with the automatic ZF gearbox, which comes with steering wheel mounted paddles.

The Signature model features the naturally aspirated V8 engine, which produces 380bhp, and effectively replaces the entry-level Portfolio model.

Prices for the 2014 Jaguar XK model range have been cut, with the basic V8 Signature model starting at £54,950 – less than a basic F-type V6 – with the fully loaded Dynamic R starting at £69,950.
