If the standard Veloster isn’t quite quick enough for you, then this might be the answer. Hyundai have effectively bolted a turbocharger to the Veloster’s 1.6 GDI engine, giving it a slightly more potent power output of 201bhp at 6000rpm.

Hyundai claim that the Turbo will be the most efficient car in its class, working hard on weight efficiency (tipping the scales at just 1270kg), and combining a twin-scroll turbocharger and GDI system to provide a world-class performance car – which can manage a claimed 45.6mpg combined consumption.

Not much has been upgraded suspension wise, but Hyundai are confident that the Veloster can handle the extra power, but the steering system has been upgraded with a quicker ratio rack and revised calibration, which should sharpen the handling up nicely.

The air-intake and exhaust system has been completely re-designed to be more free-flowing and sporty sounding, and Hyundai say that they took inspiration from high-performance motorbike tuning when designing the bodykit for the car, 'adding aggression and aerodynamic stability to the basic design.'

Available with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic with steering wheel-mounted paddle-shifter and and Shiftronic controls (instead of the base Vesloster's EcoShift DCT 'box).
