Honda CR-Z Mugen video

Action video of the new Honda CR-Z Mugen hybrid coupe revealed. We drive it next week

Debuting at next month’s 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed will be the Honda CR-Z Mugen hybrid hot hatch. The car is a joint development project between Honda (UK) and Mugen Euro in Northampton, with the aim of creating a hybrid with power and dynamics edging toward the Type-R end of the Honda spectrum. With 197bhp and 158lb ft of torque available from the supercharged iVTEC 1.5-litre and electric IMA (integrated motor assist) combo, the 0-60mph sprint is expected to take around 6.6sec. Weight saving measures include carbonfibre bonnet and doors, lightweight Mugen GP wheels, Recaro racing seats in the front and deletion of rear passenger seats equating to a drop of around 50kg at the scales. Uprated suspension includes stiffer springs and five-position adjustable dampers - based on MUGEN’s commercially available products - with braking courtesy of four-pot callipers grabbing 320mm grooved and vented discs up front. While Goodwood (1-3 July) will be the official public reveal of the car, you can read our review of the Honda CR-Z Mugen next week, right here on evo.co.uk
