Mugen Honda Civic tweaks

Pricing announced for the tweaks to enable you to Mugen your Honda Civic Type-R

If you like the look of the Mugen Honda Civic Type-R we tested recently, good news – you can make your regular, Euro-spec Type-R look just like it.

TDI (Torque Developments International) has announced pricing for the various bits of aerodynamic and styling addenda that adorn the monster hot hatch. No word on when the performance tweaks will appear, but you can prepare your Civic in anticipation.

Starting from the front, there’s the new bumper (£1151) with optional triangular intake trim (an extra £234), sports grille (£373), aero fenders (£852) and new, air intake-equipped bonnet (£1257). Around the back, you can specify the muscular rear bumper (£1044) and that incredibly indiscreet rear wing (£1151).

If you want the lot, then, you’ll have to set aside over six grand. That’s the price of a very tidy Integra Type-R. Still, the Mugen never claimed to be a budget iteration of the Civic, more a specialist, hardcore rival for the likes of the Mégane R26.R and Ford Focus RS.
