Czinger Hyper GT revealed as 1233bhp four-seater

US hypercar firm Czinger launches its second new model, the Hyper GT

Los Angeles-based Czinger revealed a first look at its new Hyper GT at Monterey Car Week, announced alongside its low-drag 21C V Max hypercar. The model is set to utilise the same advanced manufacturing techniques as the 21C and its unique hybrid V8 powertrain, only in a more practical and less track-focused package.

Blending hypercar performance with the added practicality of a four-seat grand tourer, the Hyper GT takes a similar approach to the Koenigsegg Gemera by operating at a much higher performance level than GT rivals from Bentley or Rolls-Royce. At its core is the same 2.88-litre flat-plane crank V8 as the 21C, assisted by a pair of turbochargers and two electric motors (one on each front wheel) creating a combined 1233bhp output – performance figures haven’t been disclosed, but its hypercar sibling is said to achieve a 1.9sec 0-62mph time, with its engine topping out at 11,000rpm.

The Hyper GT has been developed using Czinger’s ‘human-AI’ design techniques, with additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, and the use of advanced composites that increase rigidity and keep weight to a minimum. Its exterior design has a clear resemblance to the 21C, including the lengthened tail of the recently-revealed low-drag V Max, but the front end adopts a fresh, aggressive new look with unique daytime running lights framing its dual intakes.

Inside, there’s room for four, with the Hyper GT ditching the unusual tandem seating arrangement of the 21C. Its large gullwing doors are said to make ingress and egress more comfortable, especially for rear seat passengers.

Czinger says further information will be announced as its development is finalised, with pricing and a production date still some time away. Nevertheless, things are looking promising for the ambitious manufacturer, with the 21C hypercar already in production and first cars set to hit the road in early 2023.
