Bedford Trackday 12 June

Evo's second track evening of the summer at Bedford's South West circuit

The second evo Track Evening of the 2009 season took place on Friday June 12. It was another fully subscribed event, and there was an abundance of fairly pricey and very tasty stuff lapping the South West circuit of evo’s home track. We even got spiffing weather, with sun and warmth throughout.

That was good news for drivers of the hairier stuff, which included a Porsche 993, Lotus 2-Eleven and a hilariously loud race-spec Aston V8 Vantage. There was also a Nissan GT-R and a couple of Audi R8s, as well as less expensive to crash stuff such as a 106 GTI, Panda 100HP and the usual array of hot Clios.

Jaguar turned up, too, with chassis man and development chief Mike Cross taking punters out in the firm’s new R-cars – the lovely XKR coupe and our current favourite big sports saloon, the Jaguar XFR.

We were there too (obviously) with appearances from the Fast Fleet Mini JCW and newcomers in the shape of our Civic Type-R Championship White and BMW 135i Coupe, which John Barker gave a good seeing to…
