The Abarth is set to go on sale in the US early next year, and is powered by the same 160bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged engine as the hardtop Abarth model, along with 17-inch Pirelli-shod wheels, and stiffer Koni suspension.

Also making an appearance at the how was the all-electric 500e. The eco-friendly model will initially be sold in California. Fiat has confirmed that the model will not be offered in Europe for the foreseeable future.

Based on the larger Punto’s underpinnings, the 500L and 500L Trekking models have both also made their US debut at the show. The beefed-up Trekking model made its international debut at the show, and the model shares its 1.4 160bhp engine with the Abarth. Both models are expected to go on sale summer 2013.
