Video: Alonso and Massa drive Ferrari 458

See how Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa fare in this video as they take a Ferrari 458 Italia out on track

Being a Formula 1 driver involves a lot of PR work, featuring in adverts or videos you might not enjoy to keep sponsors happy. But for Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, a day behind the camera isn’t necessarily painful work – it can involve throwing a 458 Italia V8 supercar around the Circuit de Catalunya for a few laps. This video, where Alonso and Massa take turns at fast laps in the 458, is interesting not only to see how each driver fares in a road-going supercar, but how they get on as passengers. There are some interesting facial expressions and hand gestures shared between the teammates… The Ferrari 458 Italia’s 4.5-litre V8 engine produces 562bhp, enough for a 3.2sec 0-60mph time and a 202mph top speed. Those figures are probably a little way off the Ferrari F138 Alonso and Massa are driving in the 2013 Formula 1 world championship, but they’re impressive nonetheless. Alonso and Massa manhandle a Ferrari 458 on track
