Ferrari 458 revealed

The new Ferrari 458 Italia 200mph supercar revealed in the flesh at Frankfurt motor show

The Ferrari 458 Italia has been revealed to the public for the first time at Frankfurt. And as you'd expect, it’s a bit of a stunner.

It replaces the F430 supercar but completely trumps it for power – the new 458 has a brand spanking new 4.5-litre V8 engine with 562bhp on tap (at a bonkers 9000rpm) and 398lb ft of torque.

That makes it the first baby Ferrari to top 200mph, with 0-62mph taking 3.4sec. For now it only comes with the option of a twin-clutch seven speed automatic transmission, which sits alongside E-Diff and a trick new ABS system. It’s expected to be priced around £150,000, putting it head first into a battle with the McLaren MP4-12C and Mercedes SLS AMG.
