Innotech Corvette

Chevrolet Corvette tuned up to 1000bhp by Czech firm

Czech tuner Innotech has thrown its expertise at the Corvette C6. There's a host of changes, the most obvious of which begin outside with a rather Hannibal Lecter-esque grille and some Ferrari 599-style buttresses at the back, as well as a completely fettled rear-end that cranks up the drama and also uses Corvette C5 rear lights.

There'll be a host of wider bodykits joining the range in the New Year alongside a tweaked C6 convertible, although you'll sadly have to forgo those buttresses on the soft-top. All of the changed bodywork is made of fibreglass or carbon fibre.

Bigger news for us goes on underneath the reworked skin, with Innotech describing its wealth of performance options from 'mild to wild'.

The Corvette's LS2 and LS3 engines receive a host of tweakery that boosts power up to around 550bhp if you want to go naturally aspirated, but if you'd prefer something supercharged are twin-turbocharged then anywhere from 592bhp to just shy of 1000bhp is on the cards.

Louder exhausts are available (naturally) while happily the brakes can also be uprated, with vented and drilled discs of up to 380mm and 6 pistons offered. They are housed in 19in front and 20in rear alloys, with several designs available as well as the option of carbon-magnesium wheels.

2009 will see a host of Innotech Corvette options introduced, with the C6 Speedster, Corvette Z06 and Corvette ZR1 all being lined up for some attention. As the American car industry hits hard times, it's rather nice to see some cheerier activity for one of the US's most iconic sports cars...
