Citroen DS3 WRC rally car revealed

Citroen pulls the wraps off Sebastien Loeb's new wheels, the DS3 WRC world rally car

The 2010 Paris motor show has seen the Citroen DS3 World Rally Car unleashed into the public domain. Aiming to build on the phenomenal success of the championship winning Xsara and C4, the DS3 WRC has been designed and built in-house by the engineers in the Versailles-Satory factory.  The WRC storms into view with an enhanced aggressive stance over the road-going DS3 Racing, maximized by the competition aerodynamic components. Powered by a 300bhp, 1.6-litre direct injection four-cylinder turbocharged engine that was designed entirely by Citroen Racing, the car also features a four-wheel-drive transmission incorporating a six-speed sequential gearbox with front and rear mechanical differentials.  Citroen has won six manufacturers titles largely due to the record-breaking efforts of Sebastien Loeb and the Frenchman will be keen to continue this run of success in the new DS3 WRC. He will once again be partnered by Sebastien Ogier.  The Citroen DS3 WRC will make its competition debut at Rally Sweden in February 2011.
