Special edition Chevrolet Camaro convertible sells out

Special edition Chevrolet Camaro 'Neiman Marcus' convertible sells out in three minutes

A limited edition 2011 Model Year Chevrolet Camaro Convertible has sold out in three minutes.  Only 100 of the Neiman Marcus special editions will be made, each costing 75,000 US dollars (the equivalent of £48,000).  This is despite the fact the standard 2011 SS Convertible, on which the Neiman Marcus is based, is likely to cost around 40,000 US dollars (£25,000).  So what are prospective buyers going to get for their extra cash? Well, along with the exclusivity, there is a special tri-coat ‘Deep Bordeaux’ metallic paint with a matching canvas roof and ‘ghosted’ rally stripes down the centre of the car. Inside, the Camaro is upholstered with amber and black leather on the seats with red accents on the gearstick and steering wheel. Deep Bordeaux features again, this time on the door panels and dashboard. There are no mechanical upgrades for the Neiman Marcus special, so it will use the same 420bhp 6.2-itre V8 as the standard SS convertible, itself available in America in spring 2011. Camaro tackles muscle car rivals on video in the UK We review the Chevrolet Camaro SS sports coupe
