Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse: Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse

Another special edition Veyron is on the way, this time based on the Grand Sport, using the same 1183bhp upgraded engine found in the 268mph Super Sport.

Due to be unveiled at the Geneva motor show next month, the latest special edition Veyron is called the Grand Sport Vitesse, and will be the most powerful production roadster ever.

Bugatti claims that it was the 'rapid success' of the Super Sport that convinced it to create a Grand Sport with the added performance. The torque figure has been confirmed - 1106 lb ft, which puts it at the same level as the world record-holding Super Sport. This is achieved by fitting four upgraded turbochargers and bigger intercoolers.

The chassis has also been upgraded to handle the extra power. Bugatti President Wolfgang Dürheimer commented: 'We gave our all to transfer the achievements of the Super Sport over to the Grand Sport, thereby turning open-top driving itself into an extraordinary experience at high speed'.
