BMW M Performance parts for M5 saloon and M5 Touring revealed

Official BMW upgrades ready to add more spice to the looks of the new G90 M5 saloon and G99 M5 Touring

The BMW M5 in both its G90 saloon and G99 Touring estate forms is fully out in the open, so BMW is now showing off the M Performance Parts that it's offering for the all-new high-performance execs. Available for installation at a dealer or as kits to fit yourself, this range of retrofit upgrades is intended to both enhance the aggressive looks of the new M5s and massage their aerodynamics. There are a few interior bits on offer too.

While there are numerous new parts available, the most attention-grabbing are for the car’s rear. Here, with identical components for both the BMW M5 saloon and the M5 Touring, is a redesigned, two-piece carbonfibre diffuser section. This frames a set of new quad exhaust tips that are constructed from carbonfibre and titanium and are available separately. There’s also a subtle carbonfibre lip spoiler, which varies slightly between the saloon and Touring versions.

There’s aero accoutrement for the front end too, in the form of a more prominent front splitter. It’s identical for both the saloon and the Touring and is also constructed from carbonfibre – the weight saving a veritable drop in the ocean given the M5’s 2435kg+ kerb weight. There’s no increase in downforce, but the aero upgrades are claimed to bring a boost in aerodynamic balance to improve high-speed stability. There are sill extensions to match, also constructed from carbonfibre and featuring a flick ahead of the rear wheels, matching up to the new diffuser.

New lightweight wheels, set to debut in summer 2025, are in development. Power upgrades are not currently on offer, however, so the M5’s 717bhp and 738lb ft outputs from its plug-in hybrid V8 powetrain remain unchanged.

If you can’t get enough of carbonfibre, BMW has you covered with carbonfibre mirror caps (c£1500) and even a carbonfibre fuel filler cap, which has brushed aluminium badging. There are also black M Performance decals with rising stripes down low on the side to match the sill and rear bumper designs.

Inside, buyers can opt for branded M Performance floor mats complete with decorative stitching, with a nappa leather key case designed to match. And should you have a spare set of M5 tyres lying around, BMW is even selling motorsport-style M Performance tyre bags to safely store them in.
