For those who desire a slightly different sound from their ‘M’ car, BMW now offers an official Akrapovic exhaust option. Made from Titanium, the exhaust system not only changes (and BMW says improves) the sound of the car, but reduces weight by around 10kg.

Other options include the M carbon-ceramic brake system, which is offered along with a set of 20-inch light-alloy wheels – reducing weight by 19.4kg. A carbon fibre steering wheel can be specified, which includes Ferrari F12-style shift-up lights along the top.

There’re also a number of other bits in the interior that can be replaced with carbon counterparts. Externally you can buy yet more carbon fibre, including the rear spoiler, mirror caps, rear diffuser and rear exhaust trims.
