Continuing the expansion of the BMW 1 Series range, the brand new 3 Door Sports Hatch hits the roads in September

Advertorial 1-series

Continuing the expansion of the BMW 1 Series range, the brand new 3 Door Sports Hatch hits the roads in September of this year, and is available from Cooper BMW  from just £17,300. Alongside this new hatchback comes a choice of two new engine sizes, namely the 114i (the first ever) and the new M135i. Inside, owners will find more space than before, and evidence of a real drive by BMW to make the car more efficient.   As is expected from the BMW brand, the interior demonstrates a high degree of quality and the cabin space should be attractive to families as well as individuals and couples.   Owners of the new 3-door hatchback will be able to stamp their individuality onto their cars, with the option of unique trims on the Sport and the Urban models. The 114i is as powerful as its predecessor, the 116i. But a crucial difference between the outgoing model and the new version is that it offers 49.6 mpg combined, and delivers 132g/km of CO2. As far as the BMW M135i is concerned, exceptional performance from this top of the range model is delivered. The BMW M135i is the first petrol engine variant in the new BMW M Performance range, and it is causing quite a stir. Powered by the N55 3.0 litre straight six-cylinder, the M135i delivers 320 PS and a peak torque of 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) between 1,300 and 4,500rpm.   Created by the BMW M GmbH performance division, it can travel from 0-62mph in 5.1 seconds. This figure is even better if the eight speed automatic transmission is opted for, at just 4.9 seconds. Despite these impressive figures, EfficientDynamics technologies (including ECO PRO and Auto Start-Stop), means it emits only 188g per kilometre of CO2, and offers a class leading 35.3 miles per gallon combined.
