194mph MTM Audi TT RS revealed

Audi's TT RS quattro not potent enough for you? Try MTM's 194mph, 466bhp version...

MTM has announced a power upgrade for the Audi TT RS. The German company is prolific at tuning VW Audi Group products, with a portfolio that includes Bentley, Lamborghini and Spyker alongside Skoda, Seat and Volkswagen. And the TT RS modifications are pretty mega – the five-cylinder 2.5-litre TFSI engine’s 335bhp maximum has risen to 466bhp, enough to take the four-wheel-drive sports coupe from 0-62mph in a supercar-spec 3.9sec and onto an even more staggering 194mph top speed. That’s not just a theoretical calculation, either: it was recorded at Italy’s Nardo test facility, the car riding on 20in bimoto forged wheels wrapped in Dunlop Sport Maxx rubber. The extra power comes courtesy of an MTM turbocharger, a revised ECU and a new exhaust system, and will set you back 14,500 euros (£12,700), while those wheels (along with beefier brakes, including 8-piston calipers up front) are a pricey-sounding 9973 euros (£8740). But if you’re craving more from your TT RS (and fancy trying to top 200mph) then worry not, as MTM has a feistier 500bhp+ upgrade planned… See a video of our Audi TT RS long-term test car
