424bhp Audi S4

German tuner MTM takes the new Audi S4 to supercar slaying levels of power

Audi’s TFSI petrol engines are getting a bit of a reputation for their adeptness to tuning, and tuner MTM is only too happy to take advantage.

It's the kind of company that looks at the new (and rather good) Audi S4 and sees an opportunity for supercar-baiting rather than an accomplished 335i rival. Hence this 424bhp, 380lb ft creation. That makes it 55lb ft and nearly 100bhp better off than a stock S4, and more powerful and much torquier than a V8-powered Audi R8, too.

The uprated engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and Audi’s quattro four-wheel-drive system, and completes the 0-62mph sprint in 4.7sec.

There’s MTM-tweaked suspension (which is height-adjustable), beefier 8-piston caliper brakes and a rortier four-pipe oval exhaust to complete the package. There’s no word on pricing yet, but you can head to www.mtm-online.de for more info on the company’s efforts.
