Audi S1 Abt hits 305bhp

VW and Audi tuner Abt has extracted a further 77bhp from the S1 quattro - making a total of 305bhp. Details and pictures here

Volkswagen Group tuner Abt Sportsline has released details of its latest modified product, the Audi S1. Drawing an extra 77bhp out of the turbocharged 2-litre four-pot, Abt’s S1 sends 305bhp and 324lb ft of torque to all four wheels.

The performance gains under the bonnet have come courtesy of Abt’s ‘Power New Generation’ engine control unit. Essentially working as a piggyback mapping system, the new engine calibration has been optimised for performance, no doubt resulting in the standard car’s 0-62 time of 5.8secs being significantly shortened.

Helping to tighten up handling is a suspension upgrade that sees the car sit 30mm lower than standard, whilst the stock wheels have been replaced with an option of beefy 18-inch Abt products available in a gunmetal colour, or a set of the lighter one-piece cast Z5 wheels in titanium matte.

Abt will also add aero-focused lips to the bumpers, as well as floor mats and an integrated entrance light to confirm that the S1 you are climbing into has been fettled with by a world renowned tuner. Though the price of this work hasn’t been confirmed, customers will almost certainly be looking at a four figure cost.
