ABT tweaks the Audi A1

Renowned VW group tuner ABT gets its hands on the Mini Cooper rivaling Audi A1. Bodykits and more power

Renowned VW group tuner ABT has developed a range of performance and styling upgrades for the Audi A1.  ABT is stressing driving enjoyment and agility as key characteristics of its take on the A1. Engine and chassis upgrades take care of performance enhancements while three themed colour schemes offer buyers scope for exterior personalisation.  All of the current A1 range has been catered for; the entry-level 1.2-litre TFSI petrol now has 113bhp, up 28bhp on standard, the 1.4-litre TFSI petrol sports 148bhp over 121bhp standard and both tunes of the 1.6-litre TDI are given a 19bhp hike, rising from 89bhp and 104bhp to 108bhp and 123bhp respectively. To flatter the power gains, ABT offers a lower and stiffer suspension setup to enhance driver involvement and further sharpen the A1’s dynamics.  ABT has developed three ‘characters’ to emphasise its design mantra for the baby Audi. The red car named Klecks (which translates as Splash) is aimed at the trendy urban type, Aloha is flower adorned to offer ‘laid back and relaxed enjoyment’ while the black High-Voltage A1 is dubbed their ‘evil brother’. A revised rear diffuser with centre-mounted sports twin-exhaust, side skirts, front splitter and decals complete the visual tweaks. Your choice of ABT’s 17in and 18in wheels polish off the makeover.
