Abarth 500 and 595 update

Fiat has given the 500 Abarth range a bit of a refresh, bringing two new higher powered and better equipped models to the UK, dropping the price of the standard car by £500

Fiat has announced the introduction of two new Abarth models, the 595 Turismo and 595 Competizione. Both models will come with the 160bhp 1.4-litre T-Jet engine as standard, and also sees the introduction of the new optional automatic gearbox.

The new Turismo model is the middle of the range model. New standard features will include uprated front and rear dampers 17-inch 10-spoke Diamond finish alloy wheels, Xenon headlights, ‘Turismo’ trim pack and full leather interior for on sale for £17,725.

One step above the Turismo, is the Competizione. This new model will feature the same 160bhp engine and many of the same options, but includes a Monza exhaust upgrade, and fabric Sabelt seat trim coming in at £18,725.

The standard 135bhp Abarth 500 will continue to be sold as the entry-level model, although the price has been reduced by £500 – so the warm 500 is now available for £13,975.

All three 500 and 595 Abarth models can be specified as the standard three-door hatch, or for an extra £1900, the 500C convertible. The automatic option is priced at £1300.
