Lotus Cup Europe

Lotus owners who want something more competitive than a trackday can take part in a Lotus Cup Europe Regularity event

Lotus owners who fancy something a bit more competitive than a trackday can take part in a Lotus Cup Europe Regularity event in their regular road-going Lotus.

Run alongside an Exige Cup race series (although not on the track at the same time), the Regularity trial requires only that you have a road-legal Lotus, crash helmet, driving licence and the 350 Euro entry fee.

The day comprises two training sessions to learn the circuit, then the main event, lasting 30 minutes. The time you set on your second lap is your target time, the aim being to then match that time lap after lap. Your target time can be as quick or as slow as you like, but fail to match it and you receive penalty points. The day’s winner is the one who has accumulated fewest penalty points, not the first across the line, although everyone goes home with a trophy.

Two events remain this season – at Monza on September 30/October 1 and Magny-Cours October 14/15. Call Clare Redgrave on 01953 608830 to make a booking.
